Careers in data are growing fast, and this neuro-inclusive, eight-month certificate program can help you get started. Designed to be supportive and beginner-friendly, it equips you with the fundamentals of data analytics and business intelligence, and the essential soft skills you’ll need in the workplace.

What to expect from the program

You'll gain a solid grounding in data analytics and business intelligence fundamentals. Combining technical training with professional skill development, you'll:

  • Gain proficiency in core data analytics tools like MS Excel, Power BI, and SQL 
  • Build skills in data entry, data modelling, merging, cleaning, and visualization 
  • Develop strong communication, self-advocacy, teamwork, and problem-solving skills crucial for workplace success 
  • Gain confidence through career preparation focused on professionalism and employability 
  • Prepare for the job market with comprehensive training tailored to data industry roles

Graduate with experience

NorQuest College believes in the importance of on-the-job experience that provides an enriched learning opportunity. 

You’ll build a strong portfolio through hands-on projects using real data—showcasing your skills to future employers. 

The program also includes 200 hours of work-integrated learning, with options for remote or flexible placements where available. WIL placements will vary in scheduling based on the needs of the student and the employer partner, and all 200 hours will be completed during the 16-week term.

Accessible learning environment 

The Digital Information Careers certificate is open to everyone and designed with accessibility at its core. Rooted in the success of NorQuest’s award winning Autism CanTech! program, the program is designed to support neurodivergent students, while remaining open and inclusive to all. With flexible attendance options, sensory-aware supports, small classes, and personalized guidance, it offers anyone an inclusive way to step into a technology career.  

Additional supports provided include:  

  • Ongoing support from a supervisor and mentor at the jobsite 
  • Employment support from a Career Coach and Accessibility Advisor 
  • Connection to NorQuest College’s student support services

From not for profits to large corporations and government, today’s competitive world requires data-driven decision making. Digital information careers in data analytics and business intelligence are growing across sectors like finance, tech, government, insurance, agriculture, and more. 

This program prepares you for entry-level roles in one of the fastest growing tech fields, with average starting salaries between $50,000 and $60,000 per year.

The Machine Learning Analyst diploma program provides a flexible, industry-aligned education for the modern data and artificial intelligence workforce.

Arts and Sciences Diploma

NorQuest’s Arts and Sciences diploma offers small class sizes and transferable credits towards a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science.
