Tuition for Trades Pathways for Newcomers – Carpentry, is funded by the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Jobs, Economy, Trade, and Immigration, through funding provided by the Government of Canada.
There are no fees or tuition for eligible students. Students must be unemployed or under-employed permanent resident, convention refugee or naturalized Canadian citizen, and not receiving employment insurance.

The Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) - Entrance exam is administered by the Government of Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT). If you have already taken Entrance Exam 2, 4 or 5 for another trade, you do not need to take a new exam.

If you are registering to take the entrance exam, you should select 'Carpenter' as your desired trade. AIT will schedule you for the Entrance Exam Level 2.
