Program requirements

Academic requirements

To be accepted as a NorQuest Bridging student, you must provide a high school transcript, current within the last five years, or complete a NorQuest College placement assessment to show that you will be able to meet academic requirements for your target program as a NorQuest Bridging student.

English language proficiency requirements

Each NorQuest Bridging applicant must provide proof of English language proficiency (ELP) before admission. These results must be no more than two years old when you start the NorQuest Bridging program.

The following minimum ELP scores are for students who do not need any Academic Upgrading coursework during their Bridging program. Applicants who also need Academic Upgrading need higher ELP scores.

If you are seeking admission to Band H programs, test scores we accept are:

  • IELTS Academic: 5.5; no section score below 5.0, and the Listening score must be at least 5.5
  • TOEFL iBT: 52
  • Duolingo: 95
  • minimum of 80% in ESLS 6000 or ESLS 6100, and 80% in ESLW 6000 or ESLW 6100

If you need English as a Second Language courses as part of your Bridging pathway, you may also be accepted based on CLBPA or CLBA scores, or LINC coursework completed.

Other requirements

For international students who do not yet have a study permit, we recommend you have a high school diploma before applying to the NorQuest Bridging program.

Progression and graduation

NorQuest Bridging students who do not meet their target program’s requirements in full by their specified due date may remain as Bridging students, but will no longer have a guaranteed seat in the target program.
