Transferability
At NorQuest College, we strongly believe in helping our students and alumni find pathways into further education and future career advancement. Through post-secondary transfer agreements, graduates can build on the education they receive at NorQuest and pursue new opportunities.
Turn your diploma into a degree
This program has been intentionally developed as a bridging program to provide a solid foundation for further education. NorQuest’s Engineering University Transfer Certificate graduates, with a minimum 2.5 GPA, may be eligible to apply for:
- University of Alberta, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, year two
- University of Alberta, Bachelor of Science
The Engineering University Transfer Certificate program is built around transfer to the second year of the University of Alberta Engineering. All courses in the program will have official transfer status through ACAT to the University of Alberta.
NorQuest can’t guarantee admission or course transfer into a program at another institution. Your application will be assessed based on the entry requirements of the receiving institution.
Course transfer
This program has an established course transfer agreement with NAIT. Students who complete approved NorQuest courses deemed equivalent to their courses, and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0 (C grade), may qualify for advanced credit toward select NAIT programs, including:
- Instrumentation Engineering Technology
- Civil Engineering Technology
- Construction Engineering Technology
- Electronics Engineering Technology
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Materials Engineering Technology
- Digital Media and IT
- Nanosystems Engineering Technology
- Surveying and Geospatial Engineering Technology
- Engineering Design Technology
Other post-secondary institutions in Alberta and across Canada may also accept transfer credits from NorQuest College. Transfer Alberta lists many Alberta institutions where your courses may transfer. For the most accurate and current information, connect with a NorQuest Academic Program Advisor.
Transfer guidance
For the best experience, reach out to the Engineering University Transfer Certificate Academic Program Advisor early—ideally once you’re able to enrol. They’ll help you clarify your transfer goals, plan your coursework, and make sure you have the right contacts at the receiving institution.
From there, most students benefit from contacting their future institution during the first term. Starting early helps you understand application timelines, attend open houses and info sessions, confirm the most up-to-date requirements, and stay on track for transfer after the second year.
