Trades Pathways for Newcomers

What it costs

Tuition for Trades Pathways for Newcomers is funded by the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Jobs, Economy, Trade, and Immigration, through funding provided by the Government of Canada.

There are no fees or tuition for eligible students. Students must be unemployed or under-employed permanent resident, Convention Refugee, or naturalized Canadian citizen, and not receiving employment insurance.

Supplies

You’ll need school materials and personal safety equipment for this program that may cost $250–$300. NorQuest may be able to help you buy the equipment if it is hard for you to afford it.

Courses

As part of the selection process, we will consider your experience, interests, skills, and goals to determine which pathway is the best fit for you. You may be asked to indicate your pathway preferences during the application or selection process. If you are selected, you will be registered in one pathway. Your pathway will be confirmed with you as part of the selection process.

Carpentry, 5 courses

Pipe trades, 5 courses
