What is Microcredential

A series of carefully curated learning activities that provide learners with opportunities to gain specific skills or competencies that are workforce relevant and valued by employers, without enrolling in a credential program. The outcome can be shared digitally and allows employers to easily identify candidates who have mastered a specific skill set for success in their industry.

What to expect from the program

This program will give you the skills you need to advance in supply chain the exciting and growing industry of tourism. You will begin by learning industry rules, policies, procedures, and controls in supply chain demand as it relates to the tourism sector. You will then gain insights into demand strategy, demand fulfilment, marketing, and using emerging technology in creative ways. The program will conclude by providing you with the opportunity to apply your knowledge through a work experience.

Ripe with new work opportunities, this program will benefit those interested in advancing their careers in supply chain in the tourism sector, individuals with experience in supply chain but challenges advancing their career, mid-career workers looking for a change.

This program also aligns with Alberta’s Recovery Plan, which identifies a need to recover the tourism sector post-pandemic. By the end of 2022, Canada is expected to grow by 431,645 permanent residents. This microcredential will create a pathway for newcomers to enter the Alberta workforce.
