Pre-Employment 1st Period Pipe Trades: Theory - XPIP 1103

In this course, students will complete training equivalent to the first period pipe trades technical training, which includes the following required sections: workplace safety and rigging, tools, equipment and materials and metal fabrication. Students will also learn sketching and interpreting drawings, math calculations, and science. Math concepts are integrated into the training to support successful completion. Successful students will receive a certificate of completion from the Alberta Pipe Trades College and may get the opportunity to challenge AIT’s 1st period theory exam. Students who pass AIT exams will be credited for their first-year apprenticeship once their on-the-job hours are complete.
