Pre-Employment 1st Period Carpenter: Theory - XCAR 1103

In this course, students will complete the first period carpentry technical training, which includes the following required sections: safety and building materials; tools; site preparation, building layout, foundations and floor frame systems; residential estimating and drawing interpretation. Math concepts are integrated into the training to support successful completion. Successful students will receive a certificate of completion from CLAC Career Development College, and the opportunity to challenge AIT’s 1st period theory exam. Students who pass AIT exams will be credited for their first-year apprenticeship once their on-the-job hours are complete.

Note: This course is delivered by CLAC Career Development College at their location at 15860 114 Ave, NW, Edmonton, AB, T5M 2Z4 by a certified journeyperson instructor. All course curriculum, grading, and attendance requirements are determined by CLAC Career Development College. Required safety courses will be at a training facility determined by CCDC.  

All course materials are provided to learners, including the 1st Period Carpenter ILM.
