Skills for Employment: Success & Safety in Trades - XCAR 1102

This 3-week course will introduce you to work culture and safety on the job site. You will learn about the different kinds of work in skilled trades in Alberta and strategies to support your success. You will use English and digital skills while you learn about the Canadian workplace and careers. You will practice hands-on skills and use examples and scenarios to build confidence in your work. Students will complete safety certifications in this course, required to enter the Pre-Employment 1st Period Carpentry program. Students will learn skills for studying and preparing for trades apprenticeship, with hands-on projects. Students will complete WHMIS and CSTS-2020 safety certifications.
