Method I - Introduction to Helping Skills - CYCD 1016

This course focuses on the helping skills of a Child and Youth Care Practitioner. Through the use of experiential learning in the classroom, students will develop a variety of different soft-counseling skills to support therapeutic relationships with young people and families. The stages of the helping process within the scope of Child and Youth Care Practice will be introduced. Students will gain the foundational skills they need to have therapeutic conversations with young people.
