Landry first became involved with NorQuest Esports in 2022 during its initial stages, drawn to the exciting idea of bringing competitive gaming to the college. He joined Varsity to further explore his love for gaming and become part of NorQuest’s competitive esports community.

His gamertag, itslandr, was inspired by a streamer he admired, itztimmy, whose adaptability in games left a lasting impression on him. In Apex Legends, Landry plays with an aggressive style, embracing movement-oriented gameplay that allows him to be creative and take risks.

Teammates describe him as a "loot goblin" always eager and energetic while outside of gaming, he enjoys hitting the gym and playing musical instruments. Landry credits his experiences with physical training as shaping his approach to competition: learning from losses and coming back stronger.

Landry’s advice to prospective Varsity members: "If you’re thinking about joining NorQuest Varsity, then do it. You’ll look back on the time you spent there and be glad you made that decision it’s pretty fun!"

Crystal May "avatarstala" Rivera

Crystal first became involved with NorQuest Esports as one of the main gamers during Drop In Gaming before being invited to join the volunteer program, which led her to Varsity. She joined to make school more enjoyable by combining her love for gaming with a supportive community.

Her gamertag, avatarstala, reflects her love for Avatar: The Last Airbender, a personal touch that connects her passion for the show with her gaming identity. In competitive play, Crystal enjoys FPS games the most, adjusting her playstyle depending on whether she wants to be aggressive or defensive, always staying self-aware and dedicated to improvement.

Known as a "Ragebaiter" by her teammates, Crystal balances her competitive drive with creativity and fun. Outside of gaming, she enjoys the gym, art, cosplay, vlogging, and editing, and her experience as a nursing student and assistant has strengthened her teamwork and reliability skills.

Crystal’s advice to aspiring Varsity members: "I recommend joining NorQuest Varsity because of how the community is very welcoming and feels like a family. It is also very fun to engage in anything esports too."

Skye "ThinkDread" Crate

Skye first connected with NorQuest Esports after attending a drop-in gaming session, where they met a few Varsity players who introduced them to the team. Their gamertag, ThinkDread, dates back to their very first Xbox 360 chosen randomly from a name generator and kept ever since.

Competing in Apex Legends, Skye enjoys playing smart and aggressively, combining strategy with strong team chemistry to roll through opponents. Known for their leadership and upbeat personality, they keep teammates focused while making sure everyone’s having a good time.

Outside of gaming, Skye loves hiking, snowboarding, and skating. As a Practical Nursing student, they bring teamwork and communication skills from clinical settings into every match.
