Grant Funding

Have you applied to an ESL, Academic Upgrading, or Employment Training program? Alberta Works for Learners has grant funding options available to student. Eligible candidates may be considered for grant funding as required to assist in completing training goals.

After applying to NorQuest College, you MUST see a Student Navigator BEFORE the following deadline* to apply for full-time or part-time Alberta Works funding.

For fall term 2017:

  • pre-screening begins May 15, 2017
  • the last day to apply is June 30, 2017

*Note: The deadline for Alberta Works funding is subject to change based on availability of funds and classes.

Applying for Alberta Works Income Support

Some basic eligibility requirements to consider:

  • be able to demonstrate financial need to access education
  • require training to obtain and maintain employment
  • are you prepared to come to school whether it is full time or part time
  • have been out of the regular school system for at least 12 consecutive months at some point in your education
  • meet other basic criteria to access this funding as per Alberta Works for Learners guidelines

From the time you apply at NorQuest College, it can take from six to eight weeks to receive funding. Apply early!
