Under the leadership of Dr. Maroro Zinyemba, Dean of FSFL, the faculty offers an environment where students feel supported and empowered to achieve their dreams. Diverse programs for diverse learners

FSFL provides a wide range of programs, including Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC), English as an Additional Language (EAL Intensive), Academic Upgrading, and the Settlement Studies diploma program. Beyond the main campus, initiatives like the Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) in Whitecourt and Alberta Routes extend opportunities to rural and remote communities.

“We are a gateway to further education and work opportunities,” shares Dr. Zinyemba. “Whether it’s youth, newcomers, Indigenous learners, or individuals transitioning from incarceration, our goal is to prepare them for meaningful careers and fulfilling lives.”
