Assisting with Personal and Intimate Care

Are you providing care for a loved one at home? Do you find it difficult to locate the right information on assisting with personal and intimate care? Is the lack of available resources making you feel stressed or anxious?

Family Caregiver Wellness Workshops are designed to empower you with information, so you can feel confident when providing care to your loved one. Taught by health-care professionals, you’ll receive accurate information and learn new skills to bring clarity to your caregiver role.

In this workshop, you’ll discover how to adjust to changing roles in the family unit. Learn how to provide personal care—such as bathing and dressing—while still maintaining the dignity of your loved one.

Learning outcomes:

  • Identify factors that may affect a person’s ability to perform self-care
  • Identify strategies that promote participation in self-care
  • Determine actions to take when skin integrity is compromised
  • Explore reasons for incontinence and how to support a person with incontinence

In the workshop, you’ll also learn through a simulation experience and will discuss assisting with personal hygiene, as well as bathing principles. After participating, you’ll feel confident knowing you’re providing safe and effective care for your loved one.

Join us for this FREE, online workshop. You’ll also have the chance to connect with other caregivers and have your questions answered.
