Peer Connections

Bringing students together to create a sense of belonging and friendship

Peer Connections

To help you transition to your life at NorQuest, the Peer Connections initiative serves to bring together students and create a sense of belonging and friendship.

As a participant of the Peer Connections initiative, you will be matched with a student who is also looking for a campus buddy to spend time with and get to know.
. The initiative offers students the opportunity to:

  • Expand your network and meet new people from around the world;
  • Explore the college and surrounding areas with a familiar face;
  • Gain linguistic, social and cultural support;
  • Socialize and create lasting friendships with others; and
  • Gain access to information about life at NorQuest.

Students can sign up to be a part of the initiative at any time, though we recommend doing so prior to, or at the start of a new semester. There will be two ‘kick-off’ meet and greet events throughout the year; one in the fall, and one in the winter as well as monthly social events for everyone involved. This will give students the opportunity to meet their buddy and connect with others who are taking part in the initiative. The events will include a short welcome to the initiative, food and drink, and lots of fun activities to break the ice!

At the start of your initiative membership, we will provide you with a Peer Connections starter pack including resources to support you in this process.
