Exam Procedures for Students with Accommodations

Our on-campus Testing Centre is currently closed due to COVID-19.

  • If you are taking a course right now during the months of July and August and are looking for exam information, please contact your instructor.
  • If you are wondering about how you will access exam accommodations for the fall term: Disability Services and Testing Centre will send you a welcome back email to your NorQuest email account prior to term start. The email will provide information on what to expect, and how we will support you as you take your courses online.

If you have approved exam accommodations through Disability Services, the Testing Centre will provide you with a safe and welcoming environment for your testing needs - from extra writing time and/or audio accommodations, to any other approved support you might have. Read the following procedures carefully. If you would like someone to talk you through the steps you need to take, contact the Testing Centre – we are here to help!

Note: Photo ID must be shown at every test appointment. You will not be able to write your exam without a photo ID.

Part 1 – When will my exams be written?

If you are taking an in-person course, or an online real-time course

Your exam must be written at the same time as your peers who are writing in the classroom. Only your instructor or program chair can change the day and/or time of your exam by emailing us directly at accommodated.exams@norquest.ca.

Note: Generally, quizzes/exams that are 30 minutes long or less will be written in the classroom.

If you are in an online anytime course

Your exam will be written according to the deadlines set by your instructor for exam writing.
