Spring 2020

April 9, 2020 The last day to submit Alberta Works funding (subject to program, course and funding availability)

Applying for a student loan

Full-time and part-time students in a post-secondary career program can apply for assistance to the student financial assistance service in their home province. Students taking upgrading courses or programs are not eligible for a student loan. Your provincial student finance assistance service determines your eligibility and will determine the disbursement method (Canada loan, provincial loan, etc.).

Alberta student loan information is available on the Student Aid Alberta website. Students from other provinces should visit your provincial government student finance information websites for online applications.

Student Aid Application Info Session

If you require assistance completing your Alberta Student Loan and grant application attend a drop in session, hosted by a student navigator in a computer lab setting. No registration is required; there are flexible drop-in times. You will be able to complete your full-time loan applications online at studentaid.alberta.ca. To do so, bring your login and passwords for your My Alberta Digital ID, your social insurance number and your total income from your 2018 income tax return (line 150).
