Trade Pathways for Newcomers Info Session

Interested in working in the skilled trades but not sure where to start?

Join this information session to learn about Trades Pathways for Newcomers, a free, 16-week program that combines hands-on training in carpentry or the pipe trades with English language and workplace skills for Alberta’s construction industry.

During the session, we’ll cover:

• What students learn in each pathway
• Who can participate
• The entrance and English language requirements
• How students are selected and placed in a pathway
• What you need to do to apply
• What to expect during the 16-week program

You’ll also have an opportunity to ask questions.

Who should attend?

This session is intended for newcomers who:

• Are interested in carpentry or the pipe trades
• Want help getting started in the skilled trades
• Want to strengthen their English language skills for the workplace
• Would like to learn whether they meet the program requirements

The program is available to eligible permanent residents, Convention Refugees, and naturalized Canadian citizens who are unemployed or working very little and are not receiving Employment Insurance. It is not currently available to international students.
