What is a Microcredential

A series of carefully curated learning activities that provide learners with opportunities to gain specific skills or competencies that are workforce relevant and valued by employers, without enrolling in a credential program. The outcome can be shared digitally and allows employers to easily identify candidates who have mastered a specific skill set for success in their industry.

What to expect from the program

Great hospitality starts with the fundamentals, and ends with unforgettable customer experiences. This microcredential is designed to meet the specific requirements of the hospitality and tourism industry from the ground up. You’ll build your skills in supply chain management, event planning essentials, and customer service strategies, through real-world case studies and practical, application-based learning.

The badges

The Hospitality Industry Fundamentals microcredential includes three digital badges that can be completed within 24-30 hours. Each badge takes approximately 8-10 hours to complete, depending on your pace. Take all three to earn the microcredential or register for individual badges.

  • Supply Chain in Food and Beverage Management: Build practical skills to manage sourcing, logistics, and procurement while applying sustainable, data-driven strategies in food and beverage supply chains.
  • Fundamentals of Successful Event Planning: Learn essential skills and knowledge to plan and coordinate successful events, covering key areas like budgeting, logistics, vendor management, and guest experience.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Develop your industry-ready skills in anticipatory service, service recovery, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Flexible learning. Complete this program online at your own pace.
