Education and Employment Pathways

Looking for a program where you can have fun, make new friends, and learn skills for work, independent living, and future education?

Start building your next steps with Education and Employment Pathways!

What is a Completion certificate

Ministry-approved teaching and learning activities that provide practical training for rapid entry into frontline jobs but do not culminate in a parchment/credential.

What to expect from the program

The Education and Employment Pathways program is a fun way to learn new skills, make friends, and plan for your future, all in a supportive setting. It runs August 18 to August 29, 2025, at NorQuest’s downtown campus, Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

After the two-week camp, we’ll keep going with ten Saturday meetups from September 6 to December 13, 2025 (no sessions on long weekends), each running from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Each week, you’ll:

  • Learn life skills like cooking, cleaning, and using money
  • Practice talking to others and building good relationships
  • Explore your community through walks, field trips, and volunteering
  • Get ready for work or school with help writing a resume, using a computer, discovering your strengths, planning your future, and more!

You’ll also have plenty of time to enjoy your new friends, go on field trips, take part in group activities, visit NorQuest’s miyo-pimâtisiwin Centre, and reflect on what you’ve learned.

Come join us for fun, learning, and new experiences!

Is this program for you?

If you're a young adult, and looking for a fun, supportive way to build life and job skills, this program could be a great fit—especially if you haven’t been eligible for other government-funded disability or employment programs.

You might be:

  • Autistic, neurodiverse, or have a mild cognitive delay or disability
  • Someone who can work and learn independently in a classroom and job setting
  • Comfortable participating in group activities
  • A graduate of a specialized or modified high school program, or have had specialized learning supports
  • Ready and motivated to find a job or continue your education

If that sounds like you—and you're also excited to meet new people, learn new things, and plan for your future—we'd love to have you join us!

Be part of something new!

This program is fully donor-funded, so there’s no cost to you. All we ask in return is that you take part in a few short surveys and interviews to help us learn what’s working and where we can grow.

Your feedback will help us make the case for future government funding, and shape a program that supports even more young people like you.
