What to expect from the course
This course is an introduction to current ideas and practical solutions for accessibility efforts in your workplace and community. You will be challenged to think critically about your assumptions, recognize the broader impact of accessible practices, and grow into a thoughtful advocate for meaningful change.
Upon completing the course, you will:
- Understand accessibility basics: Learn key terms like disability, accommodation, and universal design, and why accessibility matters in the workplace.
- Compare inclusive strategies: Distinguish between individual accommodations and universal design and know when to apply each.
- Promote inclusive workplaces: Use real-world examples to explore accessibility solutions and learn how to advocate for inclusive practices for everyone.
This course is a 1.5 – 2-hour self-paced program. There are five modules, each lasting about 15 minutes. The end of each module has a quiz with five questions. You must get at least four of the questions correct (80%) to move on to the next module.

Demystifying Accessibility is designed both for individuals and teams seeking an introduction to accessibility as well as organizations that want to offer foundational training to staff and leadership.
Organizations are welcome to incorporate the course into their training programs, and have the option to license it for continued use.
