Introduction to Psychopharmacology - MHSD 1008

This course will provide learners with a working knowledge of the relationship between psychoactive drugs, brain function, and behavior. This will include understanding neurotransmitter systems and their roles in perception, cognition, and behavior; examining common psychoactive drugs, their mechanisms of action, and their impact on individual’s mental states and behaviours in the context of mental health and addiction recovery.

Note: Restricted to  Mental Health and Addiction Support Worker.


This course is delivered in a classroom setting with face-to-face instruction at regularly scheduled times.
