Recovery Practitioner Skills - MHAD 1004

Develop knowledge and skills based on evidence-informed practice, guidelines and procedures that are required in the facilitating role of a Mental Health Recovery Practitioner. Develop knowledge and skills for working in a recovery-oriented practice environment with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders. Emphasis will be on applying knowledge and skills needed for engaging with clients for the purpose of effective identification, assessment, preliminary diagnosis, referral, case planning, treatment and evaluation of client progress.  These skills will be practiced in the lab.

Note: Restricted to Addictions Recovery Practitioner and Mental Health Recovery Practitioner.


This course is delivered in a classroom setting with face-to-face instruction at regularly scheduled times.
