Introduction to Engineering Design, Communication, and Profession - ENGG 1600

This course introduces engineering students to fundamental design processes and theory in a multidisciplinary context. Topics include communications in engineering design, team work, engineering disciplines and career fields, and the professional responsibilities of the engineer. The course will also discuss important issues in engineering, including: ethics, equity, sustainable development, environmental stewardship, collaborative consultation with Indigenous communities, public and worker safety, and health considerations, particularly within the context of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Note: Restricted to Engineering University Transfer.


This course is delivered in a classroom setting with face-to-face instruction at regularly scheduled times.
