This course combines practicum and in-person lab experiences designed to provide students with a bridge between classroom learning and real-life experience working with children in a childcare setting. Students will be immersed in Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework and foundational knowledge that will develop and heighten students’ awareness of appropriate practices for working with children across curricular areas. Through simulations, role-plays, and other experiential learning approaches, students will be able to acquire and develop critical thinking and decision-making skills, and safely build skills for working with children. Please note that ELCC 1100 – Practicum is a work-integrated learning simulation that takes place on the NorQuest campus. If you are currently working at a childcare center and would like to complete your ELCC 1100 practicum as a paid practicum, please be sure to enroll no later than 45 days prior to the start of the term to allow enough time to have a Paid WIL arranged.
Note: Restricted to Early Learning and Child Care.
