Planning Responsive Environments - DISB 2006

This course provides learners with the opportunity to survey approaches to planning responsive environments for persons with disabilities, with focus on how culture, identity, and individual strengths and interests inform meaningful participation. Learners will develop plans that incorporate creative, recreational, spiritual, and community-based activities while also examining the structural barriers that require many people with disabilities to work harder to access the same opportunities. Emphasis is placed on recognizing inequities, supporting capacity-building, and conducting accessibility audits to identify and address environmental factors that impact inclusion and participation.

Note: Prerequisite DISB 1004. Restricted to Disability Studies.
