In this course, learners will build on concepts from DISB 1005, continuing to examine disabilities and diagnoses that individuals have across the lifespan, with increased attention to how conditions, co-occurrences, relationships, environments, and other factors interact to shape the experience of disability. Emphasis is placed on observing and documenting to understand an individual’s identity and experience, while analyzing the influence of interventions. Learners will integrate field experiences and investigate evidence-based, functional, and tangible practices. This course provides opportunities toward deeper critical thinking about disability, support, and the dynamic factors that affect people’s lived experiences.Note: Prerequisite DISB 1005.
