
Jeanne Lehman is a renowned Black Canadian icon and visionary leader dedicated to empowering Black Canadian women, girls, and families. She is the founder and CEO of Black Canadian Women in Action (BCWInAction), one of the leading Black-led women’s organizations in Western Canada, established in 2017.
Jeanne also founded Francophonie Albertaine Plurielle (FRAP), the leading francophone settlement organization in the Prairies and Northwest Territories. She championed initiatives like "My Voice Counts" to encourage Black voter participation and contributed to forming Edmonton’s Women’s Advocacy Voice (WAVE).
Jeanne is also a recent recipient of the Order of Canada. Her accolades include Community Leader of the Year 2020 (African Community Award), Woman of the Year 2021 (Pont Cultural Bridge), and Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal 2022. Jeanne’s work reflects her unwavering commitment to fostering Black excellence and empowering women entrepreneurs across Western Canada.
