Accessibility services

NorQuest College offers a wide range of services to support students who experience disability. These include accessibility advising, assistive technology, academic coaching, accommodated exams, sign language interpretation, and more.

Email accessibilityregistration@norquest.ca to learn more or to register with Accessibility Services.

Accessibility advising

Accessibility advisors can help submit documentation of disability to Norquest and to explore academic supports and accommodations. They also support students who are applying for disability/accessibility funding.

Email accessibilityadvisor@norquest.ca with questions about accommodations.

Sign language interpretation

Sign language interpreters facilitate communication between individuals who may be deaf/deaf, hard-of-hearing and/or hearing.

We can also provide students who are hard of hearing with appropriate academic supports and accommodations.

Email interpreter.signlanguage@norquest.ca for more information.

Exam accommodations

After setting up accommodations with Accessibility Advisors and Assistive Technology, Accommodated Exam Services work with you to provide exam accommodations (e.g. additional time, assistive technology, etc.). We also provide flexible, extended booking - students have five business days to write exams. You may be able to write in person at the quiet Test Centre (Edmonton or Wetaskiwin campuses). Or, you may be able to write online. Learn more about Accommodated exam services.

Academic coaching

We can help you learn ways to study for exams, plan your time, understand what you read, and much more. If you want to improve your skills for learning, book an appointment with a coach or drop by our office.

See Academic coaching for more information.

Assistive technology

Assistive Technology Advisors help with a variety of assistive technology tools. These include audio recording and text-to-speech or speech-to-text software. Assistive Technology provides ongoing support through individual appointments.
