PROGRAM AT A GLANCE
The advanced foot care program combines independent study and assignments with instructor-led theory and clinical practice. Students will learn assessment and treatment of the ailments of the foot, as well as how to care for high-risk clients. Other topics include standards for sterilization protocols, accepted procedures for foot care nurses, record management, interdisciplinary care, and independent practice. Students will develop a professional resource portfolio throughout the course that will be used in practicum and after program completion. By the end of this course, the student will be prepared to provide foot care in either private practice or in a health care setting.
The textbook can be purchased directly from the publisher, Foot Canada. Single-use bundled kits for clinical can be purchased from the NorQuest bookstore.
