Info session for International Students on Academic Standing Procedure and Immigration Implications
April 24, 2025
2:00 - 3:00 pm
Online

Has your Academic Standing dropped below the minimum? Then it’s time to connect with Academic Program Advisors as well as International Student Advisors for supports and guidance on how to move forward.
This session will provide guidelines for international students who are at risk of being withdrawn because of the lack of academic progress as per the Academic Standing Procedure. If you received an Academic Warning status in the previous term and your Academic Standing hasn't improved this term or if you are at risk of receiving an Academic Warning by the end of the Winter term, we invite you to join this session held by International Student Advisors together with Academic Program Advisors where we will cover the following topics:
- What happens next if students do not improve their academic standing for the second term in a row
- What Required to Withdraw (RTW) status means and what options students have after RTW is assigned
- Exception requests and appeal process: eligibility and timelines
- Immigration implications
- Authorized leave of absence option
- Academic Upgrading option
- Q&As
