Airport welcome ambassadors needed!

We need your beautiful smiles to greet new international students arriving at the airport! Be an Airport Welcome Ambassador, get volunteer experience, and boost your resume. We’ll train you to get ready for this role, and you’ll get a certificate once you complete your volunteer hours.

About the Airport welcome

NorQuest and Edmonton post secondaries are collaborating once again to provide a friendly welcome for all international students from the moment they arrive in the city. The Welcome Booth will be in Edmonton International Airport, near Exit 9 and will be staffed with Airport Welcome Ambassadors who are ready to help new students and answer any immediate questions they have upon arriving.

What to expect

• Airport welcome ambassadors are expected to commit to several shifts (between August 16 and August 31), totaling 20 hours.
• There will be 3 shifts daily (between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm), so you can select the best times with your schedule.
• NorQuest College will cover your tickets for transportation from Century Park Station to the airport and back.
• Attend one of the mandatory volunteer training sessions at the University of Alberta on Saturday, July 26, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm or Wednesday, August 6, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm (the event will include training, lunch, and socializing with volunteers from other post-secondary institutions).
• You’ll receive a free t-shirt to wear on your shifts.
