National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
September 27, 2024
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Edmonton - SCFL, Atrium

On Friday, September 27, NorQuest will host an in-person event focused on learning, conversations, and discovery in anticipation of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The event will include diverse Indigenous perspectives and teachings, particularly on reconciliation and Indigenous music, artisans, and food. It's a chance for NorQuesters to reflect on the meaning of reconciliation both individually and within the broader community.
Attendees will be able to reflect on the significance of reconciliation within their community, contribute their thoughts to a reflection wall, and explore the Indigenous Market. Lunch will be provided at the Miyo-pimâtisiwin Centre for the first 200 participants in a take-and-go style, while students can create heart pins in the library. Additionally, 200 shirts and buttons will be available at the welcome table near the stairs and the library table. In the Multipurpose Room, the Students’ Association will lead a collective art project centered on gratitude and the land, alongside the board game “The Truth in Truth and Reconciliation.”
