Ryan Fernandez joined NorQuest in 2026 as the Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Ryan provides strategic oversight of the college’s financial and operational management including legal, information technology, risk and information management, regulatory compliance, and campus facilities.
Before joining the college, Ryan spent nearly 22 years in executive roles with the Government of Alberta. Most recently, he was the Assistant Deputy Minister and Senior Financial Officer for the Ministry of Environment and Protected Areas, where he led financial governance and risk management for large-scale provincial portfolios. A strategic leader with deep expertise in governance, capital planning, and risk management, Ryan has provided counsel to senior leaders to drive data-informed decision-making. He is passionate about aligning fiscal strategy with organizational priorities and building collaborative, high-performing teams.
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation.
