Graduates of the program are eligible through a transfer agreement with the University of Calgary for third-year admission to the Bachelor of Social Work program.
Graduates of the program who achieve a minimum GPA of 3.00 are eligible through a transfer agreement with the University of Lethbridge for third-year admission to the Post-Diploma Bachelor of Health Sciences program.
Coursework completed at another post-secondary institution may be equivalent to course work at NorQuest College. A formal assessment will be made to determine whether these courses qualify for transfer credit. Request forms may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar or online. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply for the Registered Social Worker (RSW) designation with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Graduates are employed in government and non-governmental settings in areas such as child and youth protection, addictions counseling, family support, and other related helping disciplines. Graduates can pursue careers that deal directly and indirectly with child neglect, foster care, juvenile offenders, family conflict and individual emotional problems, and may expect to work with individuals, families, groups, and communities.
