Introduction to ELCC Practicum - ELCC 1100

This course combines practicum and in-person lab experiences designed to provide students with a bridge between classroom learning and real-life experience working with children in a childcare setting. Students will be immersed in Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework and foundational knowledge that will develop and heighten students’ awareness of appropriate practices for working with children across curricular areas. Through simulations, role-plays, and other experiential learning approaches, students will be able to acquire and develop critical thinking and decision-making skills, and safely build skills for working with children.
