Foundational programs

Starting with foundations isn't a detour. It's the path forward.

Every learning journey should start with a solid foundation. It's where you build the skills, stability, and confidence that lead to real opportunities in both school and work.

NorQuest College offers foundational programs for anyone looking to take that next step, including adult upgrading, free English classes (LINC Edmonton), EAL for language learners, and academic or job skill-building. And for high school students who don’t yet have the marks to enter post-secondary, these programs offer a pathway to upgrade and qualify.

My journey began shortly after high school where I ended up working a stable job but always felt myself wanting more since my grades weren't the best. I realized I should've put a lot more time into my schoolwork, as I wanted to improve not only for myself, but for others around me.

I applied to NorQuest in the Academic Upgrading program, and that was where it really began. My time at NorQuest helped shape what I knew I wanted to do with my future.

I later applied to the University of Alberta as a mature student. I was accepted into the first year Engineering program in the Fall semester of the 2019 calendar year.
