Application details

Applications for the 1000 Women Child Care Centre will open for September 20 from from 11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Applications must be submitted in person at the 1000 Women Child Care Centre in the Singhmar Centre for Learning: 1-165, 10215 108 Street NW, Edmonton.

You will need to bring the following:

  • A completed registration form, which you can download here.
  • Your child’s Alberta health care card.
  • Name and phone number of your child’s physician.
  • Names of three emergency contacts for your child. Include their phone number, address, and relationship to the child.

Successful applicants will be notified via email or phone by September 22, 2017.

Cost

$1,195 per month per child for all age ranges. This is a flat fee for full-time care. Part-time spaces are not being accepted.

Financial support

Subsidies are available by the Government of Alberta to eligible lower-income families.

The 1000 Women Child Care bursary of up to $500 per child, per month, may be available to NorQuest College student-parents who fulfill the following criteria:

  • Your child is accepted at the 1000 Women Child Care Centre
  • You are enrolled and studying at NorQuest College during your child’s time at the centre
  • You do not receive government subsidies that cover your child’s total cost to attend the centre

Bursary application forms will be available on September 5, 2017 by contacting awards@norquest.ca, or requesting an application in Heritage Tower, Room A125.

Applications must be submitted by October 15, 2017 after all other available subsidies have been applied for and confirmed.

Hours of operation

The centre will be open year-round from Monday - Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. with the exception of statutory holidays and when NorQuest College is closed (December 25, 2017 - January 2, 2018).

Food

Two snacks and one hot meal will be provided per day per child. All snacks and meals meet the nutritional requirements of the Child Care Licensing Act and Child Care Licensing Regulation while also being high quality and culturally diverse.

Security

The child care centre will have swipe access for educators and families.
