NorQuest College researchers

NorQuest employees can get involved in research either through in-class or stand-alone projects.

The NorQuest Research Office is available to assist you through the planning and implementation of a research project. If you would like to discuss an idea, set up a meeting with the Vice Dean of Research. If you have a clear project idea, complete the NorQuest College Research Project Outline and set up a meeting with Dr. Erika Goble, Vice Dean of Research.

The college’s designated Research Ethics Board reviews all NorQuest projects involving human participants. Contact Dr. Erika Goble, Vice Dean of Research, for further information.

External researchers

Individuals external to NorQuest College who wish to undertake research at NorQuest College must receive ethics approval from their home institution, as well as administrative approval from NorQuest College, before undertaking their project.

Here are the steps needed in making application for research approval at NorQuest College:

  1. Ensure you have received ethics approval from your home institution. If external researchers are unable to get ethical approval from their home institution, contact NorQuest College’s Vice Dean of Research.
  2. Complete NorQuest College’s Application for Approval of External Research Project.
  3. Email your completed NorQuest College’s Application for Approval of External Research Projects and all needed documentation (listed in the Application for Approval of External Research Project form) to research@norquest.ca.

Information for students

There are various opportunities for NorQuest students to take part in research. Students may take part in research that happens in class-based research projects. They may also have the opportunity to act as research assistants on projects, work as research clerks in the Research Office, and even conduct a small research project themselves.

Graduate students who wish to conduct research at NorQuest College are considered external researchers.

Information for business, industry, and community organizations

The NorQuest Research Office works with local businesses, industry, and community organizations. Our goal is to help organizations and businesses address their research needs so that they may improve operations, grow, and develop new lines of business.

The NorQuest Research Office operates on a cost-recovery basis. Businesses can choose to pay for services, or apply for grants to support this work. A variety of funding opportunities exist to support projects. The NorQuest Research Office also provides research mentorship and support to organizations should they wish to grow research capacity within your organization.
