Provincial Grade 12 Equivalency Chart

Listed below are the Grade 12 courses from other provinces and territories that are accepted by NorQuest College as being equivalent to Alberta Grade 12 courses. The courses listed are administered by the provincial ministry of education in each province or territory.

Individual educational institutions in each province may run equivalent courses to the provincial ministry courses but use different course codes and titles. If applying to a program at NorQuest College, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide proof of the course being equivalent to what is shown. To do this, you may need to provide a full course syllabus from the school, or ask the school to provide written verification directly to NorQuest College that the course is equivalent to the provincial ministry’s course. This verification may be required especially when the education presented was taken under an older curriculum with different course codes or titles.

Note: This chart only provides information on the Grade 12 levels. For NorQuest College programs that require a lower level course (Grade 10 or 11) for admission, note that most provinces follow a numeric course code sequence indicating the grade level. For example, in Alberta the course code sequence is 10, 20, and 30 for Grades 10, 11, and 12 respectively. In British Columbia, the course code sequence is 10, 11, and 12. In New Brunswick, the first two digits of the course code indicate the grade level (10, 11, or 12), etc.
