Organic Chemistry - CHEM 2061

This course will introduce students to the correlation of structure and chemical bonding in carbon compounds with the physical properties and chemical reactivity of organic molecules, as well as provide an introduction to stereochemistry, three-dimensional structure, reaction mechanisms— especially addition to double bonds, nucleophilic substitution, and elimination reactions.

Note: Prerequisite CHEM 1001. Restricted to Arts and Sciences Diploma and Open Studies.


This course is delivered in a classroom setting with face-to-face instruction at regularly scheduled times.
