Teaching Essential Skills for English in the Workplace

This project will develop professional development resources and deliver workshops to Alberta ESL practitioners to:

  1. enhance instructional practice in Canadian Language Benchmark guided workplace language instruction.
  2. raise awareness and skill in integrating intercultural communication and Essential Skills learning tasks into their ESL instruction.
  3. establish an English in the Workplace approach for Alberta ESL teachers that integrates the Canadian Language Benchmarks, occupationally relevant Essential Skills and intercultural communication.
