Critical Incidents for Intercultural Communication in the Workplace

This project will research and develop short communication scenarios (or critical incidents) based on authentic challenges in intercultural communication from an Alberta professional and industrial workplace context.  The critical incident scenarios will be created in a web-based, video format, supported by an activity guide.  Instructors will have the enhanced ability to use an Alberta based resource to teach intercultural communications to immigrants. The project will enhance the employability of immigrants by creating a resource that will develop their intercultural communication competence, preparing them to navigate communication differences in a multicultural workplace.  Enhanced intercultural communication competence will support immigrants to more effectively enter the Canadian labour market and maintain employment.
