Singhmar Centre for Learning
Atrium

The Faculty of Health & Community Studies at NorQuest College is very excited to be hosting the inaugural NorQuest International Health Careers Challenge, “Strength Through Collaboration”.

This three-day event will see 16 teams of students from colleges throughout Alberta and China working collaboratively together to compete in various health-related scenarios. These teams will be evaluated on their skills, and also their team spirit, collaborative nature, and leadership competencies, all while learning about each other’s cultural expectations of health care and education.

Program and Events

The event will follow an Olympic-style format, with student teams coming together on August 19 for the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony will include a welcome, orientation, entertainment and light refreshments.

Days 1 and 2 of the challenge will commence at 8:30 a.m. in the atrium before teams are led to various labs within the Singhmar Centre for Learning. We will utilize many of the innovative technologies that the Practical Nurse program has introduced and utilizes in their programming. Live-streaming of the Challenge will take place in the atrium giving spectators the ability to follow along as it happens. We will also be using the main screen in the atrium to project the scores at the end of each day.

Special thanks to this year's generous sponsors:
