Courses for September 2024

You must complete 26 courses to graduate. Courses are listed by term to show the recommended path to completing the program in two years as a full-time student. See Part-time study options for what you should know if you choose to study part-time.

Courses marked with (O) are available through Open Studies.

Elective: One three-credit undergraduate university transfer course offered at NorQuest College or elsewhere.

​​Credits needed for full-time status: 9 credits per term and 7 credits for spring and summer.

Online courses

Online courses provide a flexible option for students to take some or all of the theory portion of the program part-time in their home communities. It may take up to three years to complete the program online and students are recommended to consult with the program area regarding the timelines. All program-specific courses must be completed within five years of beginning the program. Students who are looking to complete most of the program online should be aware that:

  • theory components are offered online anytime, with up to two online real-time sessions per course. Courses are facilitated by instructors via email, telephone, or videoconference. Assignments and exams must be completed by specific dates.
  • lab components are offered in person at the Edmonton campus. You need to be on campus for in-person labs a total of six days during Year 1, and a total of four days during Year 2.
