Part-time Study Options >>

Students applying to the Edmonton campus are encouraged to register early as there is limited space for in-person sections.

Online courses

Online courses provide a flexible option for students to take some or all of the theory portion of the program part-time in their home communities. It will take students three years to complete the program online, and it cannot be completed in two years. All program-specific courses must be completed within five years of beginning the program. Students who are looking to complete most of the program online should be aware that:

  • theory components are offered online anytime, allowing students to complete course work at their own pace. However, each theory course may include up to two online real-time sessions that students are expected to attend on specific dates. Theory courses are facilitated by instructors via email, telephone, or videoconference. Assignments and exams must be completed by the course end date.
  • lab components are offered in person at the Edmonton campus. Students need to attend labs in person and are expected to be on campus of total of two times during the program for a total of 12 days.

Note: The in-person delivery of this program meets the eligibility criteria for the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program for international students.
