NorQuest Esports FIFA Cup

NorQuest Esports is hosting its first-ever FIFA Cup and you’re invited to join! There are plenty of prizes to be won—including $500 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd place, and $100 for 3rd place!

New to FIFA or Esports? Everyone is welcome to join! Our matches take place every Monday and Wednesday evening in October.

Gameplay rules

  • All matches are a “friendly match”.
  • Players can choose any team, either from international or club teams.
  • Home or away players can pick any team they want to play with before starting the tournament.
  • Players are allowed to switch teams at the start of every new fixture.
  • Players should take a minute to fix their starting 11 players before the match starts.
  • Matches ending in a draw will be decided with a golden goal.
  • Both players are required to take at least one photo of the score each.
Tournament format
  • FIFA Cup is double elimination bracket style.
  • Teams will consist of only three subs.
  • A “match” will see company teams of two players competing against each other.
  • A “fixture” is one 10-minute FIFA game.
  • FIFA Cup consists of 16 players (or 32) competing against one another. Winners advance through the “winners bracket” and losers have the chance to stay in the Cup by winning through the “losers bracket”.
  • All participants must check-in 10 minutes before play starts. If a player is a no-show when the match starts, they will automatically be eliminated.
  • The player who plays ‘home’ is responsible for starting the match.
  • If both players are ready, the match can start before the scheduled time; however additional in-play breaks will not be permitted in-game.
General rules
  • Fixtures will be posted on the event page and/or the bracket site (TBA).
  • The Norquest Esports team will work under the assumption that each participant is aware of all the rules and checks them regularly.
  • Significant rule changes will be communicated. A lack of knowledge of the rules will not be used as an excuse for rule breaking.
  • Players who take part can play with their gamer name they have specified.
  • Players found breaking the rules will be eliminated.
  • Players found to be playing out-of-spirit (i.e. complaining about losing) will be immediately ejected from the tournament.
Registration is required. Registration will be closed at 4:45 pm on October 3, 2022.
