Jeffrey graduated from the college’s Social Work program in 2014. His remarkable path from substance abuse, addiction, and incarceration to become a respected student leader and volunteer is inspiring. After completing the Edmonton Drug Treatment and Community Restoration Court Program, he pursued his education at NorQuest College where he served as an ambassador and student councillor. Chalifoux also started an Aboriginal student peer support group to help students stay in school and regularly shares his story of recovery with other young people in the community.
For these achievements, Chalifoux is the 2015 Lieutenant Governor’s Circle on Mental Health winner of the True Grit Award.
