Speech Assisted Reading and Writing (SARAW)
SARAW is a talking computer software program designed to facilitate the development of basic reading and writing skills. SARAW is designed for individuals with severe physical limitations. The Neil Squire Foundation donated the equipment and software to the College. You can have training and access to SARAW free of charge.
For training on SARAW, an interview with a Student Support Specialist is necessary. You must also have the ability to function independently at the College, or have a personal care aide or tutor to accompany you.
Assistive Technology Assessments
We offer assistive technology assessments to individuals with physical, sensory, and/or learning disabilities. If you have a disability and want to determine which technology would be most useful for you, contact us for more information.
Inclusive Education
LSS, in partnership with the Alberta Association of Community Living, offers Inclusive Education services for students with developmental disabilities. The service offers support to a limited number of individuals interested in participating in a College environment while auditing courses in any of NorQuest College’s Adult Upgrading and/or career programs.
Career Program Support
LSS provides support for Health and Human Services and Business students including extra support with class materials, homework, skills, and preparing for exams.
