Downtown Campus
Provides the following student support services:
- Assisting with the application process and identifying Aboriginal funding options
- Assisting with applying for Band funding, liaising with bands regarding funding and support, and case- managing band funded students
- Guidance about personal matters, problem solving and referrals to appropriate community resources
- Career and educational advising
- Assistance with completing forms, appeals and applying for Aboriginal awards and bursaries
- Connecting with admission personnel, student advisors, instructors and funding agencies
Offers these services as well:
- Organizes various cultural events throughout the year, including the Round Dance, Meet The Elder Event and Aboriginal Awareness Day
- Serving as a resource to staff regarding Aboriginal issues
Aboriginal Elder
NorQuest’s Aboriginal Elder is a spiritual and cultural support on campus. Aboriginal students are encouraged to meet with the Elder for counselling, spiritual guidance and healing circles.
Aboriginal Ceremonial Room
This recently renovated Aboriginal Ceremonial Room is used for formal ceremonies, circles, feasts, counselling with the Elder , a meeting place for the Aboriginal Student Club and as an area for students to relax and socialize. View the Aboriginal Ceremonial Room photo gallery.
