  • Full-time studies
  • Starts every 8 weeks
  • Weekly YMCA program in Terms 1 and 2

Program Overview

This full-time program focuses on increasing academic and personal communication skills for ESL (English as a second language) youth, ages 17 to 25, who wish to transition into an adult learning post-secondary environment. The curriculum and projects are high interest and fast-paced.

Admission Requirements

  • Assessed below a Grade 9 academic level
  • First language other than English
  • CLB 4 in listening and speaking
  • Program interview with an academic advisor to clarify educational and vocational goals*

Progression

Students must attain a pass grade in each course to progress to the next level of YIT.

Funding Your Education

This program is funded by the Government of Alberta, Advanced Education and Technology. Tuition is free to those who qualify.
